What is the purpose of a fire door?
 1. Fire doors are one of the measures used for fire compartmentation in buildings, typically installed in areas requiring smoke and fire protection, such as stairwell entrances or openings in shafts. They are designed to effectively block the spread of smoke and fire, playing a critical role in minimizing damage and loss.

2. Fire doors are classified into normally closed fire doors and normally open fire doors, depending on their opening status. Normally closed fire doors remain shut under the action of a door closer in normal conditions, effectively preventing the spread of fire and smoke in case of a fire. On the other hand, normally open fire doors stay open due to the door closer during everyday use; however, when a fire breaks out, an automatic release switch activates, causing the fire-rated door closer—working in conjunction with the door closer and sequence operator—to swiftly close the door.
