Fire-resistant rolling shutters, fire-resistant windows, fire doors, and fire-retardant coatings—trusted allies for enhanced safety
As the weather turns colder, people increasingly rely on certain heating appliances. As we all know, these appliances often have high power ratings, which can easily cause localized overheating in wiring—and potentially lead to fires. Unfortunately, fires triggered by this issue are often difficult to detect early on, and by the time we notice them, it may already be too late. So, how exactly should we respond to this situation?
Fire safety experts remind that using fire-resistant materials for home renovations can effectively reduce the incidence of fires.
Relevant experts stated: "To prevent fires caused by prolonged use of household appliances, we should take action on two fronts. First, we need to enhance our personal fire safety awareness and remember to pause occasionally when using these appliances for extended periods—this helps avoid localized overheating that could trigger a fire. Second, during home renovation, we should prioritize the extensive use of fire-resistant materials, such as fireproof glass, fire-rated rolling shutters, fireproof windows, fireproof doors, and fire-retardant coatings. These materials can effectively reduce the risk of fire outbreaks. And if a fire does occur, their inherent fireproof and heat-insulating properties can help contain or slow down the spread of flames, buying us valuable time to respond and extinguish the blaze."
So, what exactly are fire-resistant materials? And what characteristics do these materials have?
Experts explain that fire-resistant materials are a relatively new industry that has only begun to gain traction in China in recent years. These materials are created by incorporating innovative substances with inherent fire-retardant properties into conventional materials, thereby endowing them with both thermal insulation and fireproof characteristics. Among these fire-resistant products, fire doors and fire windows are the most widely used. Fire doors, for instance, can be categorized into wooden fire doors and steel fire doors, while fire-resistant glass used in fire windows is available in two main types: cast-in-place fire-resistant glass and multi-layered crystalline silicon fire-resistant glass.
