Methods for Identifying the Quality of Fire Doors
In our daily lives, the quality of fire protection products directly affects both consumer safety and societal security. Firefighters demonstrated to citizens identification methods for five major categories of fire protection products—such as decorative fire-retardant coatings that are commonly encountered in everyday life, glass sprinkler heads, indoor fire hydrants, fire pump connections, and fire doors—products that residents often come into contact with, or even have readily available in their homes.
At the display stands showcasing both wooden and steel fire doors, samples of fire doors adhering to both old and new standards were presented. Firefighters explained that standard wooden fire doors have wood treated with special chemicals and feature flame-retardant strips sealed tightly into the gaps. Meanwhile, steel fire doors are filled internally with a new type of natural, eco-friendly material—perlite. On-site, firefighters used a high-temperature spray gun to test the perlite, demonstrating its excellent non-combustible properties, as well as its lack of smoke or odor, making it a superior, environmentally friendly choice.
In addition, fire officers reminded citizens that identifying the authenticity of fire doors requires checking several key components: First, the fire door’s identification card—this certificate can be scanned using specialized tools into a computer, and detailed information can be verified on the website of the Ministry of Public Security. Second, examine the metal nameplate affixed to the fire door, which clearly displays specific technical specifications. Finally, make sure the door comes with a testing report and certification issued by the manufacturer. Only fire doors equipped with all these essential components are considered genuine and compliant.
The fire department reminds the general public that, in addition to increasing your awareness of fire safety products as usual, you should also bravely report any instances of counterfeit fire products being sold—working together to safeguard and clean up the fire product market, ensuring that fake and substandard fire items have nowhere to hide.
